I've owned Mk3's Before that Suffered from BHG and Currently My newest (Prettiest) Project is Doing great but I don't have any Problems as far as BHG.... YET. No Compression issues, Coolant problems, or White smoke.....YET. But as a preliminary Effort I've always heard a retorque and MHG is recommended to save lots of grief later. But As there haven't been any issues With warpage yet is it definently recommended to have a head shop machine it?

Agreed.

If you're going to do the work to take the head off, have it machined. If you're installing a MHG, I recommend ARP studs as well. I machined my block too.

I have The Studs Purchased already, Im waiting on the Specs to determine HG thickness, And Im also waiting for the warranty on the engine to expire Since head Work would void the warranty. :naughty:
