heh, no not everyone. In fact Steven who probably deserves a shot behind the wheel more than anyone hasnt had his turn. Waseem got to drive it because he helped me get her running and showed some interest in buying her. He only got to play with about 5 lbs of boost and even at that I was kinda edgy about it.

I did the second oil change today at 130 miles, and it looked like I expected. Golden with the standard metallic cast from break-in. All is going well at this point and Lucy has yet to exhibit her previous behavior. Some ricer in a honda pulled along side me today on Hillcroft and reved at me. I smiled and dropped a gear and built a couple of pounds of boost and then blew off. He smiled and backed down. I cant wait to be able to build some real boost.

Ohhh Lucy...I missed you baby!

:naughty:

You may be right John, but I tell you this: She put up one unbelievable fight and I thought I would never have her driving again. 3 times longer than I expected, 2 times the cost, and more than my pound of flesh took its toll on me thats for sure.

Now that she is running and I am getting to enjoy the fruits of all that hard work...yes it will be hard to part with her.

BUT, if someone offered me 6500 tomorrow...she would be in someone elses driveway that night. Sorry Lucy, but its reality baby!

Well, I did the second oil change on her yesterday. Oil looked about like I expected. Not as mettalic as the first change but definately still breaking in. Jake was right when he told me I should have named my car Christine. The more I drive her the more she is fixing herself. The off idle stumble is almost gone now, the severe fluctuations In A/F ratios are gone, and she stopped blowing off intercooler pipes at 5+lbs. Maybe if I leave her alone long enough she will transform into a 2JZ. :naughty:

Went out to a local meeting place tonight. That particular location was definately a Honda/Mustang crowd and I felt a bit out of place. The only other Toyotas I saw was 1 1st gen MR2 and a MR-S. When Lucy is broken in and tuned Im gonna have to show those Mustang boys what a real car can do :evil2:

I went up to SGP Racing today to ask for couplers and t-bolts. Fuckers wanted $174 for 10 t-bolts and 4 couplers. WTF Mate?! Something was wrong.

Well I guess Im just talking to myself here but thats ok. Heres where Im at right now. Ive got about 350 miles on it. I had a nasty off idle stumble but Ive been able to tune most of that out and its little more than an annoyance now. I finally got a chance to do a few from a dig runs on it and while I was fighting FC the whole time Im definately making progress. I have the boost set at about 10 lbs, and need to take somewhere between 15 and 20% air signal out to avoid FC, but Im worried about taking too much out right now. I feel its better to be a bit rich than risk lean under boost without an actual datalogger, EGT probe, and an experienced tuner. Im learning as I go so Im trying to err on the side of safe.

So, tonight I met up with Steven and some of his other friends and went out to some meet in northwest Houston. We ended up having 4 mk3's there...and one Celica. Im pretty sure I was old enough to be 90% of the people there's father, but I hung tough. It was fun and I got a chance to see where Im at in relation to some of the other cars. I know now that once I get Lucy tuned and all dialed in she is gonna be a killer.

OK, so you guys were right, I really dont want to sell the car anymore. Steven and I went out to tune the boost controller. I could not seem to get over 6lbs. Turned out I had a coupler that wasnt tight. So I fixed that and tried again, and...

DAAAAAAAAYUM...15lbs is scary. This turbo really starts to come alive above 10lbs. Its almost like it has a whole 'nother spool phase after it hits 10lbs.

So, yeah. Im gonna keep tuning on her and fix a few things that are still bugging me, like the boost controller that doesnt seem to be working. But yeah, looks like Lucy is off the market for now.
