so for the past few months ive been planning on re configuring my 2jz na-t setup to be a lot cleaner and more reliable. so i pulled the motor and proceeded to go through it and replace all the leaking seals and whatnot and clean everything up. at the same time i decided to go standalone for more tuning capabilities, reliability, and looks.
so here is where the hybrid part comes in, i discovered that toyota sells a complete brand new 2jzgte shotblock! and i thought if im really going to do this again why not do it right?

so here are my planns,
built ge head (valve job, port&polish, stock cams)
tt head gasket
arp studs
brand new toyota bottom end
go-tech pro x mfi (no more 20 year old electronics!!!)
http://www.gotech.co.za/welcome.htm
dell mini for tuning
EVERY single hose and fitting will be braided AN
twin walbro
550's
60-1
etc..

anyway, its going to be a few months before i get the short block so in the mean time im going to mock up everything with the na block in the car.
ill take some pics tonight of how everything stands as of now. this will be one of the cleanest mk3 2j builds you will see!

here is what it looked like before i tore into it again,

it will never look that bad again :biglaugh:

can someone tell me if this valve spring compressor will work on a 2j head?

Don't use those, its hard to setup on the head.

I have always this one below form Toyotools : One of the best tool ever for the head work. You can finish assembling the head super quick. No fighting or struggling with springs or retainers etc.
