Got a little story to go along with this. I was sitting in the parking lot at Wendy's/Tim Hortons on 96th and Telegraph trail in Port Kells a few weeks ago waiting for my girlfriend. This older fellow, in his 60's, pulls up beside me and comes and starts chatting with me about my car. He says that he has a supra that he would like to sell. I asked him well whats the engine you got in it? He says "Well its definately not the stocker, i work at a dock in Delta and this thing showed up on one of the boats and was never claimed. The car is in a bit of rough shape but the engine is great, its called a "jz" something or other. I have no idea about this engine and was wondering if you could help me find an owner." So I said how much did you pay for it? "400 hundred dollars." Well, I sat there and thought about it, well does it run? He says oh ya its an incredible engine I just had to change the plug wires and she ran like stink.

Long story short, I still havent gone over to see his car yet. I will in the next while, to see whats going on with this thing. Pretty much I am not interested in a 1J/2J yet so i thought I would post a heads up to you guys here and if you want I will dig up his number for you.

scammed by an old dude in a pick up truck with a dog on his lap? haha I dunno man...He gave me his name and number and told me to come by sometime and take a look at it for him. This is all still just propaganda at this point...but when i go over there and do infact see a JZ sitting in that car then what? I dont care where he got it, he paid 400 bucks for it. Its worth a shot whether he knows what it is or not. He looked at my engine and said it didnt look like that at all.

Well go for it if you want, but his story is most definatly bogus. You can not buy a car off the dock. We (the dock) do not own the cars, we only handle them. They are all owned by a person or a buisness. I asked around at work tonight, and to no ones knowledge can such a thing even happen. If a car was left the shipper (company in japan) is billed the storage fee, until someone picks it up. But all are owned, none come over without owners. He may seem like a nice guy and all, but this sounds like someone trying to dump a stolen car in your lap. If i knew his name, i could tell you in a day if such a person even has access to our compound. Id be very careful of this guy and his car.

umm, find out this guys name for me. I also work at the docks in delta, and in a year and a half there has been no Supra sitting around for an extended period of time. I think this is a scam. I dotn want you to get scammed here. Find out the guys name for me, ill do some asking around at work. I dont think thats how "forgotten" cars are delt with. Besides, everyone at that place knows i would be the first to buy a MKIII supra for $400 dollars. Be aware!!

this thread is messed up, i posted here last night, and its gone, but it stil says i posted last. anyways, ill put this up again. This guy is lieing to you. I asked around at work to make sure i was correct, turns out i was. people can not buy cars from the dock. All cars are owned by someone. They arnt just sent over in hopes someone will buy them. Id be very careful with this guy. Tell me his name and ill find out if he even has access to our property. Theres other something i dont know about at my work, or this guy is trying to dump a stolen car on you for cheap

go over the and see if there is in fact a 1Jz under the hood. If so offer him $400 and take the car home to your garage and strip that engine out I dont give a fu*k if that car is stolen, $400 for mostly every thing to do a complete swap is a great deal.

Lol, if you don't want the 1J, I'll take it :) PM me if you end up taking this car off this dudes hands. I'll hop on a ferry with a truck and give you some cash for a swap.
