Just to keep things complicated, don't they have a drag strip at the track near West Point that might-could (translated for you Alabamians :icon_bigg ) use?

If it ended up where we could race near Louisville, would anybody mind if a non-Supra showed up for a run or two? My step-daughter's boyfriend's been talking smack for a few months about how his '97 Monte Carlo SS will walk all over my '90 Turbo. I'd like to send him back to kindergarten once and for all. :naughty:

You'll have to work that out with him first, and then come to my wife and me for the pre-dating screening process. Few are worthy, and fewer yet survive, er pass. :biglaugh:

Ooooooo *gets chills down back*

For some reason, people with Monte Carlo SS's think they are bad butt. Hell, an N/A Supra will take a 97 Monte for a walk in the park! I hate people like that, so I'd like to see you race. :naughty:

Matt: Jeffy no cranky. Jeffy just hates white people with blonde hair...
Oh, damn. Guess you fit right in there. ;) ;)

<3 you. :icon_surp

The mkIII is acting all 7m-ish... meaning it's not working right... :icon_conf

Even in park or neutral it "feels" like it's really having to work against itself to rev up... MDSizzle sez its the torque converter, but I've already driven it and it drives and shifts perfectly.

The only thing I've done since then is I took off the 3k pipe, the little y pipe thingy that goes from the TB to the valve covers, and to the acordian pipe (the hoses weren't on all the way)... And I hooked up the 02 sensor....

Last night it ran BEAUTIFULLY!

I checked the codes and it showed a code 51... and I didn't see anything that said 51... then I rechecked and got a 34 or w/e turbo pressure is. I don't see any loose pipes or anything, so I'm at a loss now.

The thing REALLY whistles, it sounds like a diesel at idle. I dunno.

Oh, and it's Had ths really bad habit of running rich and shooting flames. And after a 3-4 min drive around the block the turbo was REALLY hot. Like the spit just split all around it and didn't stay on it. I don't remember any of them ever getting that hot from such a short drive.

I'm now accepting ideas. :icon_bigg

RK & BHG.

:p

Matt:
All the turbo's I've ever had on my car got hot after boosting...hot enough that when you spit on it, it just rolled off right away, lol.

:KOREAN NINJA EDIT:
After a year of having the same damned air filter :)nono: ), I never even touched it...Just sort of neglected it because it's hidden under my headlight lol...and fuggin' with my Spark plugs & wires, I finally got my car running good now! :D
I officially need slicks if I go to the track......cuz Jeffy's Supra can't get traction anymore with his A340E @ 13psi. :D

Code 51 is TPS. You may have knocked the connection loose when you R&R the 3K pipe. Also when you installed the O2 sens. did you replace it with a new one? You can have a bad O2 & it wont throw a code but will cause idle & accelaration problems. I fought that for almost 6mos & the problem went away once I installed a new O2. Also check vacuum lines & that the coupler's on the 3K pipe to TB is in good shape & tite.

it could be tps. but if you have the diag jumped and touch the throttle it will set this code as well.
as jon said, recheck ign timing and cps alignment.
another thought- does this car have any cats on it? if that was clogged it could cause some similar issues.

I agree with you & Jon 100%. However giving the statement that it was running great before he did the following I thought it logical for him to wiggle a cpl wires & finger a few vac hoses in the area he worked on just for shits & grins. :naughty:
