So.. its snowing here in windsor.. light snow though. anyway i go to make a turn i brake nothing happens .. i turn nothing happens.. i do both and nothing happens.
i was going about 30km/h.. yes that is fast but i was trying to slow down before the turn but that didnt work.the car just kept going straight .
i went towards a curb... so i was like fuck!... i straighten out the wheels as fast as i could so to try to minimize damage...
than bam!.. i went about 5-7 feet past the curb lol
so i back out slowly.... i was only less than a block away from my house so i limped home.. car pulled to the right EXTREMELY so i thought to myself fuck..i really fucked shit up... i stop infront of my house and inspect the damage. tire popped.. but nothing else that i can see.
btw these are new winter tires... literally less than 500km's on them...

i am suprised at how well the lip stood up to countless scrapes, bumps etc.. seems like it fold right back or something.. idk lol

time to whip out my new torque wrench

first time i ever had to take out my spare tire!

new look lol.. i kinda like it over the saw blades.

i put the spare next to the sawblade.. and the spare is about an inch larger in diameter.. wtf? lol never seen a spare thats actually bigger than stock.

anyway the impact ripped a hole right through the sidewall... hopefully my local tire shop can repair this..

lessoned i learned from this.. never under estimate little snow.. and drive slower than slow in harsh conditions..

wow that sux,,, unfortunately sidewall punctures are unfixable, especially one that bad. you cant patch it. there is too much pressure on the sidewall... start looking for a new tire...

for some reason i dont feel real upset.. although i should be.. money is real tight for me.. full time student.. part time job at minimum wage... live on my own so i have to take care of myself and got a tons of bills

ALSO.. i just remembered i have the receipt from discount tire when i bought the tires back in december. but i'm trying to understand how the warrantee works.. but i just dont understand it.

does anyone understand what they are talking about? im sure someone else here bought tires from discount tire before

I hit a curb in the winter and it punctured my tire. It was about a week after I bought them from Canadian Tire. They changed it, no questions asked. Not sure what Discount Tire's policy is though. GL.

you think they would really? the tire is 2 months old. and still tons of tread left. but i didnt purchase the free replacement warrantee.. so idk if there's going to be any issues... and i really dont want to waste my time going all the way there (i live in windsor canada) so i have to cross the boarder into detraoit and drive an extra 15 mins to get to discount tire

Busy day = customers, which make your chances of getting another tire for free. Just bring in the wheel and tell them you had a blow out, and you want a new tire ASAP! They don't want to lose customers because your saying your tire you bought from them blew up...and bam new tire, they are happy, your happy, and they send the shit tire back and all is good.

I don't know, I don't live there, find someone who does or call them and ask when they are normally not busy, so you can find out when they aren't.:biglaugh:

your tire should come with a mileage warranty even if you didnt buy the extended or replacement one. so therefore you should be able to get it replaced and as everyone else said 1: dont tell them you hit a curb cuz you couldnt stop and 2: bitch and bitch loud, it goes a long way lol
