well we replaced the radiator with one that jeff (boostlee) had. its practicaly brand new. and it still had the same problems..and we have pretty well come to the conclusion that it is the radiator cap that is bad and letting all the pressure out. in the morning im going to run to the auto parts store and get a new one.. i'll post and let everyone know if that works. if not i'll get it pressure tested next. Also just so everyone knows, we did another compression test. Every cylinder was at 150 except one cylinder was at 149 :p lol. So the compression on the car is great. Another side note, the car did start to get hotter. It never fully went into the RED zone but would get up pretty close and it would fluctuate up and down quite a bit. So we would pulled over and put more coolant in it, and it went back to normal temps.

ok the coolant issue has been solved! it turned out to be the return coolant line (braided) was leaking out some coolant. I tightened that up and the problems all went away! thanks for the help guys

The line from the coolant bottle or the large hose (bottom radiator) feeding the pump?

Mine's been leaking like this guys. I put a pressure tester on it at 18 psi overnight and the next morning it was at 14. Another night and it was at 10 - that's a 24 hour interval between tests.

Had cardboard under it and no leaks - looked everywhere, checked inside around heater core etc. It has a new rad, new cap, new hoses.

I then ran the engine with the tester and the needle was steady. Thoughts ?

Nate (suprafanatic)'s problem was BHG. Compression test, leak down test and block test and report back, that'll give you (or allow us to give you) a pretty clear idea of what's happening.
