After my rebuild and break in period, I went to the dyno to tune the car and see how much horsepower it was making. The results are kinda embarassing. It was either making 430 or 410rwhp, I can't remember which. The turbo spools to 17psi easily and holds it until 6400rpm and then it drops it to 12, and then 10, and then it tries to come back up to about 12psi. It does it right around 6400rpm everytime within a couple hundred rpm. It also dyno'd within three tenths of one horsepower on four consecutive pulls. It's hard to believe that a boost or vacuum leak could be that precise everytime.
Things I've changed trying to fix it:
new intercooler piping, couplings, and tbolt clamps.
new wastegate (Tial) w/ 13lb. spring
new vacuum lines everywhere
I installed a new Tial blow off valve while rebuilding the new motor. It's the new Q model.
I removed the intake and checked the gaskets on it, and they are fine.
With the rebuild I installed Aarons new blue intake gasket, but it seems to have sealed fine as well.
I did a compression test this morning after getting the car warm. Here are the results:
Cylinder 1: 146
Cylinder 2: 141
Cylinder 3: 147
Cylinder 4: 141
Cylinder 5: 141
Cylinder 6: 140
When I rebuilt the engine, I went with .040 cp pistons and eagle rods. I have new clevite bearings also. This problem is starting to get to me because I can't figure it out. I'm hoping some of you have some suggestions. I'll add more details as I remember them. Thanks.
