get a clip take the motor out, extend the harness.you need to get as much of the prep work done as you can.i could of done mine in a weekend easy,i just chose to take my time as it is not my daily driver.you can have problems arise,so make sure you have a plan b incase you have a problem.we wouldn't want to see your swap in the for sale section because you couldn't get to work and lost your job

also, i could get to tx, my grandpa lives down there and i could stand to go see him. he is around DFW. anyway. let me know..thanks

well if you talkin about swapping in a jz they all came with metal head gaskets..so that shouldn't be a problem...the only think i would prolly replace would be your front and rear main seals since you'll have the motor out..and go ahead and purchase a new timing belt...i think you can get a timing belt from an isuzu rodeo and that will fit perfectly on the 1j. correct me if i am wrong...i will be doing my 1j swap sometime next month...i live in columbia mo. hope that helps

1jz is a very nice motor.it has alot of metal gaskets.all the turbo piping and intake manifold gaskets are metal.i'm not sure if anybody is selling a new extended harness, but there is alot of people who will do it for a price

i used the tranny from my clip. its in better shape than my old one. no grinds. on my last one, the synchros were starting to be lazy and i got grinding to the lower gears on downshift

If you have to buy the clip on credit, than your probably better off not gettin one for now. Your goin to spend more then just the clip it self. Credit card debt is the worst debt you can have !!!

well depends on if you get rear diff with yoru clip if you dont want the lsd they take of around 200bucks....i got my clip which is an auto with high miles around 90k miles...for 2250 which i think is a deal...one problem is b/c the radiotor is cracked but no biggie b/c i got an extra one..so i have to go get it this weekend...i think jarco is out of clips...there getting rare and hard to find...but yea so now all i have to do is worry about my wiring harness....if you call venus you can usually get a 1j front clip for around 2000-2200 with a 5 speed but from what i hear they have quality control issues its either hit or miss..if you call venus ask for Vickey she's hooked many people up..plus she speaks clear english which is always a perk :).....thanks
