i've seen photoradar tickets for 1km over the speed limit but they usually just get thrown out but most of the time the cops here are pretty relaxed about speeding. i've had them roll up on me doing a 100 in and 80 and just got the head shake

I can't remember why exactly. I will try to find out. It had something to do with that trooper pulling over the same guy several times that week for stupid reasons. And each time the trooper would instigate an argument. On this stop, the trooper took about a half an hour to write the ticket, which doesn't take 5 min to do normally.

local cops around here are generally pretty lenient, theres always the couple guys that are just in a bad mood that day or are pressed to meet their quota. ive passed a cop doing about 10 over on the same road around here, both times we made eye contact, he saw the "oh sh*t" look on my face and just gave me a "slow down" hand gesture, ive never gotten a ticket yet. *knock on wood*

only time ive ever been pulled over was around last christmas, i just got my licence, still had the paper temp one in fact, and me and a friend were heading back to my place from some store. we cut across the parking lot doing like 25 or 30 (11 at night, almost empty lot mind you), and right as im about to turn onto the street, i see blue lights behind me. i pull into a spot on the corner of the lot, park it, and (stupidly) take off my seatbelt. cop walks up, asks to see my licence and asks why were not wearing our seatbelts, i explain it to him, though im pretty sure he saw us take them off. he looks at my licence, tells me i was speeding in the parking lot and cutting across lanes, i say sorry, and he hands me my licence back and says merry christmas and lets me go. i know he didnt care about the driving, it wasnt a street anyway, he just wanted to see if we were drunk haha

The cops around here are pretty cool guys. I got pulled over on my bike, for no proof of insurance (which I had just had forgot to grab it from my backpack that afternoon,) and expired permit of one day... needless to say I broke the law and broke it big time. I even gave the cop some additude... He pulled me over for not using my turn signal correctly. He sat me down and explained what my opions were. He could have my bike towed away and me a big fine. I technically had no license/permit and no proof of insurance. Now I have a brand spankin new bike and it has a bunch of money invested into it to and getting it taken from me would break my heart. He told me that I can get my license the next day (Saturday) and bring my proof of insurance to him tammaro at 2pm at hoopfest or he would ticket me, so he held onto my info for a day. So I got my license and brought it to him along with proof of insurance and left me off. Pretty nice guy... funny story is he had the same bike so I bet that played into it :biglaugh:

Needless to say if you dont have an additude and you admit you were wrong and lets face it guys 90% you are breaking the law he said that most of the guys on the force give you a bennifit of the doubt and let you off.

Funny vid though:icon_surp

That wasn't a local cop that was a state trooper!!!!!

I know he's a state trooper, and our state troopers are cool. I just said to not try it with my local cops in the great city of Sumiton. They wear combat boots and army fatigues 24/7

You're serious?
The videos less than 5 minutes long from start to finish, the officer only speaks a handful of times the rest is the mans outbursts.
If someone smacked the clipboard nearly out of a cop's hands like that they'd normally be in cuffs within seconds. Even if the trooper had been instigating and harrassing the man he is far less in the wrong than the motorist. I just find this very unbelievable.

Dunckel do you have a link to the article saying he was fired? I'd be interested to see the rest of the story.

I am working on getting all of the details. I found out about it at a street survival seminar put on by calibre press. We watched all kinds of videos, and heard all kinds of stories. One of the videos we watched was the video in question. After the video, our spokesman informed us about the trooper getting fired. He explained it, but that was 4 months ago, and after 2 days of watching people get murdered, Officers getting killed, and sitting in a room packed full of other type A personalities, I kind of forgot the details. But I am working on finding out. If I get word back, I will post in this thread.

I just received an email from one of the instructors of the calibre press survival seminar. It didn't help me that much. All it said was, "I remember showing that video. The trooper was terminated." So........Errr.......
