Erm... well... ah nevermind. ;)

'Tis the truth my friend ;). I love Castrole (sp?) 0W 30 German formula ;).

The question originally is one that there really is no true answer for, we can only give you examples of what people have achieved with similar setups.

I agree wholeheartedly with those of whom say: It all depends on how you drive it.

Just the premise of this thread reminds me of when a guy said: "what time is a duck?"

If I hade unlimited budget I would get everything made out of titanium and carbon fiber....engine, chasis, body panels, interior...everything...

Cheers,

It's an ester based synthetic oil with a very thin weight at idle to prolong bearing life at startup (where the oil plays it's most important role, well, second most important ;)) and a decent add pack too. I also use 1 quart of RS530 racing oil (IIRC it's group IV) for the add pack in it also.

Edit:: I forgot to put in that the weight is thin in a COLD idle or startup conditions so the oil will flow around the bearings easier, sorry.

Oh, and the RS530 is actually a Group V and the add pack in it is more geared towards racing conditions, whereas the other oil has more detergents in it (thanks for clarifying JDub ;)).

And probably would design a better cooling system where coolant enters 3 cylinders water jackets simultaneouly and not in series like the 7m.

Make the underside of the car all flat like the ferraris and have venturis built in the body of the car like f1 cars.

And of course Variable Vane turbos...

Cheers,
Roy

I think you just need to do some more research...:)

That's interesting, so you think heavy part throttle acceleration is harder on the gasket than WOT?

it sure is. anytime you are running <~75% the ecu will operate in closed loop. meaning, it will try its hardest to run 14.7:1 a/f. boost + lean = boom. youd be lucky if the hg is all that went.

lets see my 7m would be somthing like this
perfectly milled block i mean i want it to be mirror shine
stock bore(keep piston weight down) with forged pistons
titanuim rods
aftermarket mains that have been alighned bored
deburd block to get all casting flaws and extra sand out of my block
the bearings, rods, pistons(tops and sides),and crank would be thermal coated
whole bottom end would be balanced and blueprinted
cooling passegaes enlarged
block o ringed for my copper head gasket
arp studs and bolts replace every factory bolt on the whole motor
and thats just the bottom end lol

topend would be
full P&P head flow benched so each port flows the same
titanum double valve springs
magnesium filled valves
titanum retainers
combustion cambers debured and reshaped to releive hot spots along with being thermal coated
hollow cams
full 3 angle valve job

oiling system and cooling would be a full drysump setup
large oil coolers

tuned on a motec for a full year so the seasonal calabration would be correct just like factorys do
my guess would be it would last between 150k-200k asumming its a daily driver and drove that way

don't give me an unlimited budget that gives me money to get shit made custom lol

I say that, because in my experience, the stock TCCS keeps you lean under boost @ heavy part throttle. 14.7-15.0 @ 7-9psi of boost isn't my idea of 'safe' - I'm damn well not tuning to a 2.5 VF at those points in the MAFT-pro...

The leaner mixture gives you a higher combustion temperature - as carbon builds up and creates uneven spots around the combustion chamber, I believe those high spots coupled with the higher combustion temperature in the chamber lower the threshold for detonation, and is a contributing factor to the BHG of the 7M....

Do you really think it would last 150-200k miles pushing it @600+hp??? I don't think so! :) I think you could daily drive that thing like you stole it pushing 400hp and get 150-200k miles out of it, but not 600+hp.

Agree? Disagree?
