Im sure people would even be willing to help you find one, what color?, Targa?, Turbo?, Price range?
If your just looking for something nice, not just in Cali. Im sure there are ones closer to you that are in just as nice condition, you just have to shop around till you find something that YOU really like regaurdless of what anyone else says.

If you find something you like down in the DFW Tx area, I'd be happy to go check it out. I've had plenty of experience with BHG and Rod Knock as most of us have. Don't worry, I wouldn't buy it out from underneath you. All my money is sunk into the one I got.

always have a gallon of water as well just incase lol. and some duct tape. i popped a coolant hose the other day and saw smoke comin from under the hood and the temp started to rise i was like SHIT!!! another bhg!?!? but then i saw the big hole in the hose. luckily i work at walmart so after work i bought some duct tape, wrapped it up and made it home safely. also i have made plenty 6hr+ round trips with out fan shroud or undertray as well with no problems :)

Bring distilled water, 2 qts of oil, container of ATF, paper towels and some windex. This along with a 12mm socket, a lock grip wrench, duct tape, electrical tape, can of air sealant and a portable air compressor (runs off of cig lighter). oh, dont forget the gas moneys and redbull.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm not trying to be picky but I don't want to get a Supra, fall in love, but then think "I should have gotten a targa" or "man, it sure would be nice to shift myself". For this reason, I want to get exactly what I want the first time. It has to be a turbo, targa, and 5-speed. Color isn't important to me but it does have to be reliable enough to drive back to MI. As always, an unmolested car would be best but I'd take an already upgraded one as long as it's been done right. I grew up around cars (family owns a repair shop) but naturally don't have as much experience w/ imports. I've been learning everything under the sun about Supra's the last month or so and I'm beginning to feel relatively comfortable with them. I work part-time at the good 'ole NAPA in town here so I get the employee discount (10% over cost!!) on OEM as well as aftermarket parts. Between the cheap parts and no labor (if I can't do it myself the shop does it for me free) I'm not afraid to repair anything on the car so little problems don't deter me. It's just the matter of finding a car that's difficult. Again, thanks to everyone on here. If you ever have to get something through NAPA, run the part by me and I'll tell you the list price of it, the cost of the part to NAPA, and "Low Suggest"(typically the lowest price parts associates are allowed to give customers) before you go in. Knowing what the store paid for something is a great help. Most people don't realize that even at a National Chain like NAPA there is some price haggling to be done if they try. At the very least it'll make sure you don't overpay, even if you can't underpay like me. Thanks again!!!!!!!

i suggest taking a few names and numbers from the "breakdown connection hotline" before heading off on your trip. But my car (91 turbo 5spd) in BPU form made reglar long trips without a hitch. All I ran in my Radiator was water and a bottle of water wetter.

You can remove the rear weather seal along the back of the hood area by the wipers, it will allow for the hot air to escape, but when you turn your vents on it will be blowing warm air from the engine bay.
That area is a high pressure area if I'm not mistaken, air would likely be forced in at speed... not escape.

As long as it has all the major and minor cooling system parts still in tact (Don't go removing covers, they do more then meets the eye initially), the likely hood that it will overheat on the highway is very low.

Blackfin did a good job explaining so I won't go in depth, I would have used a little less hearsay on the headgasket topic but the rest is pretty good.
