Lm-1 install question

I want to install the lm-1 permanently so I don't have to use the cig lighter. I also have the maft pro so I'd rather not have that hooked up with something going to the cig. Do I cut off the cig lighter adapter, and run the red wire to 12v and the black to ground? If this is right, I still need to know what 12v source should be use. It needs to get power without the keys in because of the turbo timer. The sensor has to have power as long as the car is running.
thanks

Okay, my cig lighter adapter isnt working at all. It says low voltage warning and blinks while it is trying to warm up but never can. Can someone point me in the right direction for the 12v source?

The ignition I believe is a 12v source. On the ignition switch there's two, IG1 and IG2. IG2 is connected to the IGN fuse, probably the better one to use, it's a Black and Orange wire on the back on the ignition switch. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

not to hijack but did you get a heat sink for your lm1? I just ordered mine with no heat sink and was just wondering how far down the exhaust to mount it...

could you just hook it to the turbo timer power?

I dont have the heat sink either. I mounted it in the down pipe close the the test pipe. Its in the 12 o clock position and I have the wiring going right beside the speedometer cable behind the heat shield.

The yellow wire coming on the igniter shows 12v so I used it. When I plug in the wide ban it still flashes between warming up and low voltage! When I check it the plug it shows 12v though. What am I doing wrong?
