You already gave D34DC311 rep in this thread, you can't just keep giving rep to the same person. You have to give rep to 10 other people before giving it to the same person again.

none of us with one green rep bar can give out any rep untill we get two green bars, or in other words 100 rep points. same thing on sf, but sice everybody is rep happy over there it isn't a problem receiving rep. only the mods and admins can +1 us here on sm. i, myself, have NINTEEN gray bars which out of the kindness of the admins hearts should make green

The system is a LOT more complex than that.
For instance: People can't +rep you until they have a certain number of posts, maintain a certain rep level, etc. The effect they have on your rep changes as well - a +rep from an admin changes your level much more than one from a new member, and a member with a bad rep cannot affect you at all.
The system isn't meant to be fast - anyone who wants a shiny reputation in a week is wishing in a big way.
And yes, Admins can tell if you abuse the system and try to 'trade' for rep points, at which time we WILL slap someone back to the realm of darkness and pain.

yes, but how can one maintain a certain rep level if you guys (admins and mods) never spread the rep love? you guys are the only ones who can + or - us losers, lol. i have not seen any regular member with more than one rep bar.
actually ONLY the admins can give any green rep...so that leaves only jeff and grim... they need to fix that.....
