May 3 - The girl goes missing from her bedroom between 9.30 and 10 p.m. while her parents Kate and Gerry are dining just 100 yards away at the Mark Warner Ocean Club holiday resort in Praia da Luz. A window and shutter are open and she is presumed to have been abducted

I couldn't leave my three year old daughter in a house by herself while I went and ate................a hundred yards is a long ways off when it comes to your childs safety...............:3d_frown:

Many new parents forget that when they have a kid, their social lives are over until the child is 16-18.

All those places though, are supposed to be secure resorts, so people get lulled into a false sense of security.

LOL, in todays world what the hell defines secure?

For some strange reason, Vixen and I take our kids out to eat with us.............:dunno:
That's not a solution for most of today's parents, who do not discipline their children well enough to make them stay quiet for other patrons. I HATE when I am trying to enjoy a meal and even one kid is crying, screaming or running around [all depending on age]. I see much less spankings and threats in public these days in exchange for concerned, understanding conversations about the child's feelings, and it's a shame because the old way works about 500% better.

Most parents these days would rather "inflict" their kids upon the public than get a babysitter or discipline their children properly.

It's been on the news here almost every day (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky News), despite there being almost nothing new to say, they're still going 'KID IS MISSING! HALP!'.

As much as its an unfortunate thing to happen, she's not the only kid to have been abducted, but i guess the media have found something to act as filler material due to the lack of anything new to put out there.
