I've gone a year without the Supra, but I could never go without my license. I drive at least 3 hours a day just out of necessity.

i have a question. I did something stupid about a month ago. I was speeding. I passed by a cop doing 100mph and after he pulled me over he gave me a citaton for Operating motor vehicle to endanger, failure to stay in marked lanes, and speeding. 90 in a 30. Estimated and not posted. I got a summings to court because operating to endager is a criminal offense. Now my court date is 10/15/07. Anyone with any experience with the law? It would be cool to know what to expect. But after all this is only my second citation. My first one was just "Failure to use care with start". So it might not be too bad. Lets hope not. Any help would be great. thanks.

Just go to court in nice clothes plead guilty and be polite. I got 65 in a 30 on a restricted license and the judge let me off with a $70 ticket and dropped it from a felony to a misdemeanor.

Turbo, your lucky he didn't throw you in jail....I would have. Unless of course you have a good reason for going 70mph over the limit in a (guessing) residential neighborhood.

it was actually not in a neighborhood, It was on a main road with two lanes. And no, i didnt have a good reason to go that fast. It was a stupid mistake and i regret it. What can i say. People make mistakes. I've learned from it let me tell you.

Seriously dude, get a lawyer.

He can probably work a plea-bargan and get the charge reduced, keeping you out of jail and maybe keep your license out of suspension (something you will have no chance of accomplishing on your own).

Plus, if your license gets suspended, and by some sad twist of fate you get caught driving on a suspended license, you will do jail time.

Once your license has been reissued, after the suspension is up, your insurance costs are going to be astronomical.

Judges have been known to put youngsters such as yourself in the cooler for a few days to slow them down.

If the judge and the DA see you have no lawyer, then they know they can have their way with you, and you will more than likely be treated more severly than if you had one.

Do whatever you have to do to show up with an attorney.

No bullshit.

Take this very seriously!

Trust me on this, you'll be damn glad you did.

you need to get a lawyer dude, else you're done for. I don't care how nice you dress or how eloquent you speak.

Heh, when I was in my 20's I kept a traffic attourney on retainer.

On a per case basis you're probably looking at around two hundred (dollars, not pesos) for an attourney.. at least for a half decent one.

So this is your second citation and it's criminal... how old are you? If you're under 30, you're screwed. Under 20, you're going to get your ass handed to you. Under 18, you'll be lucky if they'll even let you ride a bike.
