I kinda doubt the HAC has the operating range needed to function properly in the compressed section of the intake system (probably not a 3 bar barometric pressure sensor, lol). You never know though, somebody try it out and let us know.

Not to throw fuel on this fire, but the pre 89 HAC is the same sensor the stock boost gauge uses to send the pressure signal, so it should be good for a signal into the 10psi range. (Not that this means the TCCS can do anything with this signal of course.)

I have thought about running a vac line to the HAC under my dash and seeing what effect it has on AF's and engine operation. Never did it however, and I'd only do it with a very good WB attached as you could fry your motor in short order if it caused a lean condition, or did something funky with timing.

108 kpa sensor actually since sea level is 14.7 psi = 1 bar. Including barometric change and going 1 mile above sea level. The 108 kpa sensor is more than adequate and has the necessary resolution.

just take a voltage reading out of it. It should not be hard to see what voltage it is at that day and weather.

apparently, it has been done. unless it was just a big hoax some SC guys have done it. how reliable, successful have they been? i have no idea. but supposedly it drives just like stock, no extra fiddling required. im searching right now for the thread i have in mind, (with pictures!)
