Let's take care of Ct and our other boys over there

Hey all,

reading Ct's thread and others floating around on this board makes me realize just how lucky we are to have people like this willing to put everything they have into keeping us safe. think we can pay 'em back?

How about we collect things every once in a while and ship them over to take care of the members of this board? The arsenal here in VA sponsored several troops in Iraq during Christmas and Easter, sending care packages over there. Needless to say, the soldiers were pretty happy to get this stuff and we felt more than grateful to send it to 'em.

if anyone else wants to send, just let me know, i'd like to get a box or two over there asap.

and if anyone would like to receive these packages, lets hear it!

What type of things would you send him. You couldn't send him certain magazines without sending him lotion. You could send him some tuner magazine or a book, a football, I don't know. What did you have in mind?............lol

I'm all about this. Being both my parents were in the military at one point.(long while ago). But I am told you can not send porn or pork products to them. Just thought I'd let you guys know. Because I was about to send porn.

I brought it up at the cub scout meeting tonite about having the pack do a thank you letter or send some stuff and the parents thought it would be cool. Maybe we should find out what they need and lack?

heres some ideas:

candy (non meltable) like gum, jelly beans, jolly ranchers, hard candies and the like. maybe twizzlers if anyone wants em.

we also sent cards and mags, toiletries like fresh socks and toothbrushes/deodorant/hand sanitizer.

haha, one of the biggest demands though was for handheld games like handheld solitaire and poker and all; you wouldnt believe how many people wanted em.

and for the holidays, we found a little foot tall christmas tree that lit up, so we threw that in too.

just an idea, but i suppose the ones who request these packages are the ones that are gonna give us the options
