spark plug rail????

::walks away::

Lol, spark plug galley maybe? Theres a gasket that gets old there. The gasket is cheap. Get the gasket, replace it, and get the oil out and ur fine. Now if theres oil on the fuel rail then u have a big problem lol.

Valve cover gasket? Think I have it a brand new one sitting somewhere. I don't think there's oil in my fuel rail. LOL:naughty:

I know its off topic, but a common noise drivers have trouble with is Flywheel cover. When you get a clutch replaced if you dont do it yourself people tend to forget a few bolts to the cover. The rattle is terrible, and sounds as if your gears are grinding but a few bolts will make it all better.

EGR? Where is it located? And, what does it do?

BTW, I just checked my spark plug rail and......it's flooded with OIL! What the fork??!?!

EGR = Exhaust Gas Recirculation. It takes exhaust from #6 exhaust and recirculates it back into the intake to reburn any unburned fuel. It's mainly to reduce emissions. The EGR system is located behind the engine near the #6 cylinder intake and exhaust.

See http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/ec/EC_16.html.

winman and LexingtonBlue, Did you guys ever figure out what the noise was? It's still too cold here to do any work outside. Just curious if you guys found the problem, so I can check for the same things once Spring gets here.

I talked with the previous owner, and he said he started hearing a tapping noise when he first installed the 550 injectors. It's kind of hard for me to believe that they would make a noise audible from outside the car though.
