Ill worry about flywheels in a few months when I get a new clutch... its not going out yet :) *knocks on wood*

joe- butt dyno feels like: better low end torque/response I can definately feel the difference and there is no more rattle and shaking when Im going from a stop (and I mean just normal starting off, not launching or anything). The car just feels smoother and pulls a bit harder as well, I have only got to do one 2-3rd pull so cant really really tell exactly how much of a difference, but it feels much better.

no vibration at all, going around 85, havent had a chance to go faster yet so I cant say about up top.

On another note, you DO have to get longer bolts, thanks to jdub I learned in advance and was prepared.

Thanks for all the responses,
Jon

Real nice peice and no vibrations, that's great to hear, was thinking of this mod too.

I have been told by driveline guys that if it is smooth at slower speeds, the odds that it vibrate at higher speeds in very low, when I had mine balanced, they spun it up to 3500 rpms, don't know what that translates into mph's.

I just ordered a clutch and fidanza. Got the clutch from a guy that said it WOULDN'T chatter and WOULDN'T slip at around 450 ftlbs. New cost me 425.00 shipped. Don't want to start a flame war so I will keep the source to myself until I see the results, then I will post, good or bad. Can't see why mkIII clutches command such a high price. Decided to pioneer up a different avenue and use one that I have read no feedback on here. Anyway should be here next week, how soon do you need a clutch?

Another thing I wanted to mention was that I have read that the al ds and lightened fw don't really work very well together. I don't know from personal experience but would be interested in following your progress if you decide to go with a lightened fw.

I was *thinking* about a lightened flywheel, but im going to try and find the heaviest of the lightened :) maybe one of them with the steel inserts? Ill have to do more research.

I dont want to spend 600 on a clutch, and 350 on a flywheel, thats for sure :(

send me a pm if your source has one rated for around 600lb/ft or more (preparing for the future) or if they have one that will work for around 550tq that is reasonably priced.

were you thinking of running both l-f/w and al ds. I will call him tomorrow and see if he has something to fit your needs. Keep me posted on that al ds, as far as vibrations or irregularities go.

I will be ordering the ati dampener tomorrow, weighs 1/2 as much as stock, cheap, well not so cheap insurance I guess, feels a little ruff over 5k.

I will try and find out something on that clutch for you.

yes, I was thinking about running lightened on both. But I would be going for the heaviest of the lightened I could fine, and hopefully not aluminum.

Thanks man, If I can save some money on the clutch/flywheel combination, I could move along with this car much faster. Its actually pretty dissapointing for me to have to do this, as I was about to get some drag wheels and slicks :(

but hey, I cant drag with a bad clutch right!?
