A wise man can learn from other people's mistakes.

Fights in school are BS anyway. If you *have* to fight someone, you don't warn them, don't talk about it for 5 minutes before you throw a punch, don't threaten, just hit them as hard as you can and don't stop until they are out.

It's the same principle as using a weapon. Don't pull out a gun to threaten someone - you pull it out to kill them. If you're not prepared to kill them, don't pull it out.

I've ended and seen more than one fight end on that first free punch. :3d_frown:

Since I"m old and feeble, I know that fighting doesn't prove anything, and having said that......................I would have kicked the shit out of him.

I'm easy going and I love a good time, but let some bitch try talking smack to piss me off and then start crawfishing when I get mad and ready to fight. I don't care if he fights back or not, it's just that much easier for me. I never start shit, and I've probably turned my back a few times when I didn't have too, but you know when someone is just talking shit to try and piss you off. I take all the 1j talk with a grain of salt, because I know the people saying it are just trying to aggrevate me and not trying to piss me off. If a complete stranger said it though.........and I knew he was just wanting trouble, then I'd tell him to walk over there and practice falling down for about five minutes and then I'd be over there to beat his ass.............:biglaugh:

Matt, schools are full of all types of people. You seem'd like a cool guy when you were down here visiting and now you've had two threads in a week about people wanting to beat your ass. One was a loose tongue'd poet that made you see the light and the other is a Christian Rock band...........do you guys not have any regular blue jean jacket wearing bullies in Kentucky..........:biglaugh:

Good luck with this and try to see the humor in all that you can. There will be days when you can't see it, but worry about them as they come, and try not to look for them. Life is too short to go through it looking for trouble. You seen how old I look'd when you were down here.......:aigo:

Here's my experience

I got into an argument with a guy after school today. It got heated pretty fast, and I kept insisting that we should fight.

lol, I stopped reading here.

You had a verbal disagreement and beating him up would prove you're right? Nice.

I was never really bothered in HS, even though I wasn't exactly popular, either. It may have had something to do with the fact that I bounced another girl's head off of a 302 on an engine block a few times, though.....

And that was after dealing with her mealy-mouthed BS for over a month, when I finally completely lost my temper.

Its HS, one good fight is always good for you, sometimes a fight will teach you more about yourself, and may gain you a life long friend than just walking away sometimes. I know a lot of people from high school who had major fights and are best friends now. Then again sometimes it is smarter to walk away, its always best to pick your battles.

Sometimes you have to fight in order to never have to fight again. Other times it's best to walk away...

Learning to know the difference is the real lesson. There are things not worth argueing about, things worth fighting for, and things worth dieing for.
