I learned a very good lesson today, and I thought I would share with everyone here. I think it's one of the greatest lessons anyone growing up could realize.
Here's my experience
I got into an argument with a guy after school today. It got heated pretty fast, and I kept insisting that we should fight, he kept trying to walk away from me and I turned him around and told him to hit me.
The words that came out of his mouth, were amazing.
He said, and I quote "What if I was to deal with all my problems fighting people? It's about time for you to realize worry about your reputation to others, you need to start being a man and worrying about other more important thing."
Before he could say another word, I said "Shut up and let's fight!"
He then yelled, "Go ahead and hit me, I'm not going to fight back, because what will that prove? That I'm just as immature as you? When are you going to grow up and realize punching me will just make me hurt. Which I could care less about, but what hurts me more is the fact people like you need help taking care of their problems and maturing..."
It was a shock, it hit me like crazy. I'm surprised, that turning 16 in 14 days, I didn't already know how to properly handle my problems. I feel like an idiot, but not only that, it was a big eye-opener.
Most of you already know how to handle problems, and realize fighting isn't one of them. But sadly, there are a lot of people in the world who don't already know this.
Just thought I would share, and from now on only in the most extreme cases will I throw a punch.
