ugh. that's not what i wanted to hear. maybe i should just save the few things i have on this comp, and put xp on it. :/ i can't stand the thought of wiping out everything on a brand new computer...

I have a Mac G4 PowerBook, and it always works...I use it so much, that the keys are starting to peel...LOL. The only problem it has is that it will start running a little slow after a few sleep cycles...but a quick restart cures that.
The only keys that are peeling are the A and S...I'm guessing it's from my fingernails scraping them.
I also have a Mac G3 Desktop from 1998...It has been turned on for about 4 years straight, the only times it was off were during power outages during the summer. It still works perfectly, the only thing I have done to it was upgrade the hard drive for a larger one.
My PC "keyboard" is about 6yrs old. I upgrade my PC occasionally but overall it's about 4yrs old.
I run it fulltime with no pwr saver stuff (and have a UPS so in 4yrs it has never gone down or been rebooted unless I install upgrades into it) and use it for my music and "high end" gaming (another cool feature of PC's over MACs)
My friend has the newest MAC w\e it's called and is a studio engineer for Universal now but we used to do music together, and his was always crashing or freezing if he left his cellphone next to it, mine has never once crashed or locked up or stripped keys and does anything I ask it to without issue.
