Ok this is the situation,i just installed a new timing belt and a new headgasket a week ago.prior to doing the headgasket and timing belt i would be driving and the car would shake some when at a light.but when i start to accel the shaking would stop, but when i would step on the gas some more it would not have any pickup.she does'nt overheat, nore smoke.when i would go from "D" to Park, the shaking would stop.It would only shake when in gear and the foot is on the brake. And i did line up the crankshaft and the camgears, plus the distributor is lined up with the #1.She still has no power but will drive fine thoe.can somebody help.would a crack block give a lack of power?not sayen i have a crack block, and last i have no codes showing.

How many miles is on the car....If the block were cracked it would be leaking some kind of fluid(oil or water)[/QUOTEWell in that case i have no problem with the block, thank god.I installed a new distributor cap as well,i don't think it's the timing do to i lined everything up and used a timing light.can't figure it out do to no codes are showing.my sparkplug wires do say 1989 on them.does anybody think if i put some n.g.k's on will that fix the problem?

I'd say make sure everything is torqued down correctly and double check your timing. Rough idle and lack of power point to timing issues.

the miles is 149,500,and i'll check the timing again.i made sure that the cams were lined up with the notches on the timing cover and the crankshaft was lined up at 0.the distributor is lined up with the #1 sparkplug wire.don't understand.last the 1st piston is at T.DC:aigo::aigo::aigo::aigo::aigo::aigo:

Yes check your marks, did you turn the moter a couple of revolutions by hand after installing the timing belt and re-check the marks?

Check the Damper and make sure the outer ring hasn't slipped giving a false TDC reading.
