The 3M stuff is IMO the best... Use some rubbing compound, then some hand glaze, then a good wax.

The machinist ground my crank one billionth out of the spec I wanted so I got a new one and sent it to NASA. Maybe they can get it right. Then I took the car apart and put it back together while doing a jigsaw puzzle with my other hand.
