I have jet to test the car effect, though I was today 2nd time to school with my car (actually not allowed by law - aiaiai), but I had to park far away, and really noone saw me exiting or entering the car . So I got a gastank today. Mine leaks when filled a bit over half. Looking at the design of the tank I have a feeling its a/the filler tube gasket. Hopefully it isnt cracked but since i have a second gas tank that wont cause a problem.

Could I create a gasket with silicone or is that a bad idea?

Taurus??? Try a Ford Tempo for slowes car on the road. You' had yo get the passenger to help you press on the gas pedal as well to make it past 55 .. lol

I was so glad to ditch that shady van. I put 20 gallons of gas total in today, less than 200 miles. :nono:
