You might lose the water temp idiot light, when you put in the aftermarket gauge. I think the sender for the light is part of the factory gauge.
I chopped up my dash... check my thread for pics.
good luck.
by water temp idiot light do you mean the infamous coolant "birdcage" one?
I'll check out your thread, thanks!

Bump for more input on the gauges and for this story:

OKAY!
Going to my doctors appointment, ALMOST there, anddddd flashing lights behind me.
Feck, so I take a left at the light, pull off to the side.
Lady cop comes up.
"The reason we pulled you over is because we didn't see a front plate."
"I have a front plate there, you can go look if you'd like."
"Okay, keep your hands on the steering wheel" (wtf?)
*Goes and looks and sees the plate. Probably feels really stupid*
"Oh. Well, the reason we didn't see it is because it's off to the side and low."
"Oh I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that it had to be centered." (hehehe.)
Then I left.

Then, I get out of the doctors appointment, real hungry, almost to taco bell and BAM! more lights!
Pull over again.
Different city, different cop this time btw.
"The thing that first caught my attention was you taking off quickly at the light back there and your loud exhaust. Then I paced you, do you know how fast you were going?"
"I'm sorry, I didn't realize I had taken off so quickly, my exhaust is a little loud. I wasn't really paying attention to my speed but I think I was going 40."
"you were going 45, the speed limit is 35, that's 10 over" (I can do math. :))
"In addition to that, one of your brake lights is out."
BLAH BLAH BLAH
After like waiting for 5 minutes, comes back saying how he could have gave me a speeding ticket and a modified exhaust ticket, but he'd let me go with just a brake light ticket. 101 bucks!

/rant and story time.

easy to get out of.. get it fixed.. take pics. and go to court over it. you win! say you didnt know since you arent physically able to look at the break lights when your driving the car. and had no reason whatsoever to do so since you didnt know.

Know whats funny i just got a ticket for neglagent driving on my bike. he said i split two cars going down the road(I didn't btw thats suiside) and said he was arresting me then didn't but gave me the ticket. guess the price....$538. I went home and checked the law of course i find out he can't give me a ticket that big. law states "fine of up to $250". I so have him beat.

anyway sorry to hear man btw i find it interesting that a tail light cost the same as a speeding.:icon_conf :nono:

btw isn't that what the yellow light above the abs light is for? if not then i need to know what it is because mine comes on and my lights are fine but thought it might be because theres a little crap in there from sitting.

Yes, but I've been having problems with my lights and that sensor light since I've had the car, and I thought it was just the other light that was out, butttttt it wasn't.

So, the gauges are two inch, and it looks like the sotck black cover is a little bigger than that if you cut out the bottom of them, and they just need a little bit cut out of the bottom flat spot to fit in, but they'll have little empty space around the edges, any suggestion on what to use to fill that? Also, what should I use to cut it? dremel?
and something is somewhat related, I figured out what I owe my parents, and it's 550,
and my tax return just happens to be 548
boo yaaaaaaaa grandma!
time to start saving for a laptop and fuel upgrades now!
