The ones that make red or blue smoke when you drift/burnout.
Kumho was forced to make them available to the public, as a homologation, and fairness to the other teams if they wish to run them.
I was looking at them on TireRack.com and decided to call them for a price, as it was not listed.

255/40r17 MX-C Red: $2300/ea
yes, that's not a typo. Twenty Three Hundred Dollars. Each.

However, the run-of-the-mill Kumho MX 255/40r17 comes in at a very affordable $117/ea

I know that there's "technology" to make them smoke red, but not that much...

Just to see some red color in your smoke :3d_frown: what a rip off. I feel bad for anybody who would spend money on that.

haha well said VK...

I honestly couldn't ever see spending that much on tires, especially given their sole purpose...

You guys don't get it.

They "can be purchased by anybody" but only the Kumho teams will really use them due to the cost of the colored smoke tires...

They are only there to satisfy racing rules. And Kumho can charge whatever they want for their tires, so they are keeping them exclusive with price.

wonder if kumho should get into making condoms, since their rubber is so pricey.

they'd rename the company cum-ho and when the going gets hot, youll see the same red or blue smoke.

Haha that's awesome.
They don't want to make them available for the general public so they price them so high they know almost no-one will buy them.
I guess it's one of those "If you have to ask, it's too much" things.

Oh no, I do in fact get it... I just hate homologation loopholes like this.

Right, they're "available" to the public, but they try to make them not available, due to price.

ordered a set for the cobra

what color did you get? i got the red ones.

we should make a compilation burnout video. also, we can tape 100 dollar bills to the rear wheels and burn those off first, then after the money is on fire all around the red smoke show would start.

i think itd be really cool.
