Koyo radiator drain solutions?

Most Koyo radiators only come with a nylon drain plug that makes a hell of a mess when draining the rad. After reading this thread on another forum: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt-tech/282246-resolved-how-empty-koyo-radiator.html it looks like the plug thread is an M10x1.25.

Anyone else come up with another simpler solution to install a 90 degree petcock or drain with a hose? The shop that made the custom part that the guy ordered wants an order of multiple units.

it's not that bad, the nylon bolt has a cut in it and it will shoot in the direction of the cut (aim it down into a bucket)

That huge valve is ugly, not to mention the weight and leverage combined with vibration would more than likely work harden and crack the aluminum endtank around the bung...
