I'm serious about the broom stick YA for sure it's tried and true.
It's surprising how some shit from the 50's still works this day and age.
Rod Knock, maybe but it doesn't sound like it to me from what I read. But I'm trying to be positive.

Atleast yes, the oil pan has to be removed and whatever there is, has to be done. I haven't almost driven with the engine knocking, so everything else should be fine. (crank and what else...)

well if it is knocking and it IS a bearing, that means the bearing is Worn/Gone....so i would recommend a rebuild(Your crank will be prolly worn so a oversized bearing will come into play, if not...a new crank will be needed, especially if you're using a 6m(not weighted correctly) crank, like mine was...7m all the way:])....You can follow my instructions on my rebuild....lots of pics...ask questions too....I've learned a lot and can pretty much answer you questions, thanks to the crew here at sm...:]
My crank is kinda new, about 10k miles old, so prolly no prob here. But we'll see. I won't be doing the work anyways, the mechanic is there to do it.
