knock sensors

I need to replace the rear knock sensor on my 88 turbo supra

the connector came off with the part that sticks out of the engine

what size is the actual sensor so I can go buy the proper wrench (I think it is 24-26mm)

any hints on getting it in and out (without removing the intake/starter)? just hope the wrench fits?

Thanks

You'll need to loosen the front end of the starter (but not necessary to remove the starter) in order to get to that KS. Virtually impossible otherwise.

I took the upper plenum off to do mine, I've already thrown my back out and would rather take a little extra time than do it again.

I also had to take half of the starter out of the way. (the 2 long bolts that run down the side of the starter, then it's just connected by a wire and can be pushed out of the way enough to get the KS switched out)

Couldn't tell you the size though as I didn't have it and had to cuss at it for 20 minutes with various SAE wrenches. Your best bet would be to take the new KS and check the size before attempting the job and find an angled head wrench. (like I should have done)
