Knock sensor thread size????

Just like the title asks, I am drilling/tapping a second KS on an NA block that will have turbo electronics running it. I don't have any access right now to measure one and need to buy the correct drill bit and tap.....
Anybody happen to know the size? IJ you know this right!

Nope, dead on there Ian. 12mm x 1.25 is correct

The thread on the knock sensor itself might be a taper design, but as stated above the thread should be the 12mm.

Also, get yourself a bottoming tap and use plenty of cutting fluid. Cast iron is NASTY stuff. Go slow and don't break it off.

Thanks guys, I knew it would be the size that I don't have yet... off to the hardware store then for a 12x 1.25 tap......

its a good tap to have as its the same as the headbolt holes in the block so by having that you can chase those out anytime the head is off.

more than likely you will not find that tap at the hardware store. closest will be 12mm x 1.5 that tap I usually special order. I bought mine @ www.fastenal.com
