im taping up a harness that i picked up, and i had to wire in new knock sensor connectors.. is it possible to mix up the order of them? or does it matter which connector goes on which knock sensor?

yeah, its easiest if you have a friend help you loosen the starter so you can get the rear one on! Virtually impossible w/o loosening the starter bolts... even with a pre-89 car.
Good luck!

Use the first one from the ECU in the back. Otherwise, your harness won't sit right. Also, be sure to check your codes once you get the car running. Knock sensor wires have that insulator wiring, and thay don't take to well to repair, without replacing the whole wire.

aha, well i actually didnt have any trouble with the rear sensor, i was able to get my hadn in there and get it off no problem, i did have the upper intake plenum off though which made it easy..

i know the wiring for the connectors is done so that the rear one is shorter and the front is longer, so they only reach to one, but since i had to completely retape the entire thing and add on new connectors, i wasnt sure if i needed to worry about which one was which...

thanks a lot!

i managed to get the new sensors on, does this code appear more often than not?

i connected the inner wiring and covered it in shrink tubing, and then took the outer sheathing and overlapped it all around the inner wiring, and then put shrink tubing around that as well.. do you think ill be ok?

the outer casing with wire is just a shielding... it should not be attached to the sensor...
so as long as its not touching inner wire you are good
