ya definately not injectors, i've heard these sounds too many times. sometimes you get lucky and its just a missing valve keeper, but that sux, thats def rodknock.
I love it when someone blows an NA engine up and everyone says it's time to go turbo.... which happens to require a lot more maintenance and attn to detail than an NA engine.
Don't do turbo unless you can do it 100% RIGHT, and start off with brand new/rebuilt everything.
5 seconds is an eternity to be without Oil I RK'd my NA in I'd guess 2 seconds after braking hard to avoid an accident on the return leg of an 1600Km trip, it was low maybe 1qt and I forgot to check it before leaving...
