The warranty is what costs - Got mine done for $250 and its been running fantastic. If you can find a local guy that you can trust thats the way to go OR someone that is recommended.
There's no shortage of incompetence in America.

is that precision turbo

Performance Techniques, the last rebuild I had them do was awesome and they accidently included a polished housing that I did not order and did not charge me for it.

I had my original CT upgraded to a 60-1 wheel from Majestic in Dallas, it ran for 10k+miles with me pounding on the car all the time and then I sold it with no shaft play. They made me a custom bolt on with the boss housing and I have put 10K miles on it and it has been great!! Still no issues.

I think that MKIIINA kept having problems with oil lines in his car, making the turbo go out. Because when I got mine rebuilt by them, it blew on the dyno at Gotham Racing the day it was put on. I took it back to them and they opened it right up in front of me and showed me that it was my fault and that it was not getting oil. I went home and my line was messed up. They fixed it right then and now I have new lines and a turbo that has over 10k miles on it.

Mike up there is great I have several friends with domestics that get their turbos from them as well.

Another good place to go to is forcedperformance.com they build some bad ass turbos too for a good price.

so i finally heard back from majestic and they said hey shaft broke (no duh) not our fault this turbo needs a big shaft to handle the slightly bigger wheel. oh did i mention parts are a couple of months out. there all in germany or somthing. well good news is there gonna try and replace it with something else with a t4 flange instead of t3. so maybe ill come out on top yet. this is so frustrating grrrrr

was not from bad oil lines as those came from SP. it really was a combination of things. what i can fault Majestic for that has been verified was shoddy workmanship and improper tolerances. When I first sent the turbo in for a rebuild i also sent the oil return and feed lines to see if they could find fault with them (which they could not). after rebuilding it and reinstalling the turbo it lasted about 250 miles. they admitted that they used the wrong bearings the first time around (claimed they had to machine the center housing and ended up using 1 size under what was needed instead of 1 size over) second turbo that went in the claimed that the front wheel was messed up, said ok replace it and that one started smoking as soon as it was placed on the car. after that i sent the turbos (thats right they had 2 shots at it!) to john and jeff at MDC and had them look over both carcasses to see what exactly was wrong. Jeff explained everything that had happened and suggested several courses of action. I made my goals known and said "do what you need to do to make it happen".

Over 3 years later now the first ever JT61GT is still on the car boosting strong.

ok so its been awhile since i posted to this thread but ive been lying in wait. i called majestic today to see if they had anything for me. john said he had a t66 turbnetics he could put together and after some price bickering we settled on 500.00. now so much for that warrenty. they told me there where some thing that he could just say forget the warrenty like heat transfer of the bearing material (that was the big one) dirty oil and a few others. now my question to all of you is can i have heat transfer of the bearing after only a few hundred miles on a fersh and clean new motor and oiling system and i changed the oil like twice in less than 1000 miles. majestic just dosent hold up there end of the deal but whatever now ill have a better turbo at half price what do you all think of that bs.

thats about par for the course. warrantys on turbos are pretty much useless as there is always something they can use to chalk it up to a user error. glad u got a cheap turbo and hope this one holds up better.
