Keeping alive my MkIII daily driver!

Hi everyone,

It's good to be a part of a community with great knowledge and good people. I found my '90 MkIII (7M-GE) in a sales lot in December 2004 and thought it'd be a nice Christmas present to myself. Blew the head gasket the following summer and didn't have the finances nor the resources to fix her. She sat in a garage until July of 2007 until I had her rebuilt.

Since she (intermittently) is my daily driver, I'm dealing with the gremlins she throws my way and I appreciate the help I can get as an amateur mechanic. I'm hoping one day to do a W58 or R154 swap on her, so wish me luck as I keep piling info into my brain to make sure this daily driver will run for decades to come.

Good luck with your ventures with your supra. My supra is now my daily. I driver her like a grandma since gas is too expensive.

If your present this year is anything like what mine was, she'll jump at you... and then you'll have no choice but to say "yes"!!

I totally understand how you feel! And I'm the lucky one living in Texas where prices are cheap compared to the rest of the country

Welcome! Hopefully you'll be able to get that tranny swap done soon and maybe a turbo for Christmas? :sarcasm: :dunno:

Any pics?

I'm still debating on whether just to do a tranny swap or go all out and find a 1JZ also.... suggestions?

As for pics, I've been procrastinating on just pointing my Digital SLR on her and going crazy. She's a big red beauty with just a few cosmetic flaws and VERY little rust. From not too far away, you'd swear it was 1990 all over again. I might need some egging on to drop my busy schedule and just spend some time taking her somewhere for a photshoot!!

i don't see the comparison between the two, except for the fact that you can get a r154 with the 1j. if you want manual, go manual. if you want more power, get more.:evil2:

and go out for a photo shoot. welcome!:icon_bigg
