So unless it's plugNplay you don't actually do a full standalone install on ECU's?

I'd like to see a pricing breakdown as I'm WELL aware of what's needed to install a standalone into an A70.

and???

what the hell you think was being done prior to the AEM PnP nonesense? No one ran a standalone? You think Duane installed a Tec2 or anyone else for that matter that did a non PnP install because it tickled thier fancy??

Come on!

Dude, if you are complaining about wiring such a simple thing as a standalone, then you have ZERO business trying to do anything more especially attempting to tune one!

Nobody is complaining, just saving a customer money, as the stock ecus are cheap. The cost of labor to do what would need to be done in order to remove the ecu completely would cost more in labor. Just makes sense.

Replying to the bold to the quote above.... , I noticed you mentioned John Reed and Mark Conte in one your post in reference to them on AEM. Next time you are talking with either of them, ask if we should be tuning ;) Maybe you might want to ask a few more questions before jumping to conclusions about whether someone should be tuning or not. A lot more qualified at this then you "guessed"

I don't ask about WE. I know them and thier ability. I also know when they make a post, they are not running circles around ambiguity or vagueness. They post specifically to the point. For instance, Mark C post about tuning using O2 in the runners x 6for a customer. He was VERY SPECIFIC which lead to no guessing on anyones part only answers instead of guessing what and what not to do or even the motive of the thread.

So I guessed wrong. Seems like everyone did. Perhaps a little bit more information or stating right from the get go "I am teknips tuner" would have kept the "guessing" or assumptions completly out of the picture. Don't you think? Otherwise we have to pry that information from you by either guessing incorrectly or proding and poking until the information is devuldged.

which on that note. If there is no PnP option, you have two choices, niether will be free. Make you own field harness which requires sourcing the connectors for the 1j ecu or rewire the engine harness completely, which on the A70, the electrical is seperate from the motor control, which means that you can pull the stock 1j+ harness and drop in what ever flavor standalone, rewire for power, done.

No, I shouldn't have to explain myself because you insist. You immediately became condescending and started making remarks. If you took the time to ask a few questions rather than insults, you would have known. Perfect example why the people you are speaking of don't come on this forum, along with some of the more well known MKIII members.

This is my last post in this thread, as its gone completely off topic.

That is the problem.

YOU are the one asking for help!

Why should Figgie(or anyone else) prod, dig, ask questions when it is YOU that is looking for an answer? incomplete questions get haphazard answers and assumptions.

P.S.

Mark C does and actually, Real Street Performance is an authorized vendor here. John Reed does on occasion but he has this thing called a self employment job, which if he is not working, he is unemployed. I know you seen his lack of participation over on supraforums also except every once in a blue moon when he does have down time. Same with the EFI101 boards and the MoTeC boards.

And we're done!

Tekimp is now happy with his new ECU install and has enough input from earlier in the thread so make a decision on the original question of the thread.

A few of my questions remain unanswered but no surprise there it happens often here.
