jz1 and jz2

me and my friend is building both our supras to 1jz. but on my engnie. on the top its stamp/castet jz1 and on my friends jz2.y that

Yeah this is confusing....

So here's some pictures from the back of the head

The only difference I'm aware of is in the PCV system, is that different between the motors? 1st gen had the hose routed to the turbo feed y-pipe, the 2nd gen had it routed to the front turbo feed pipe.

2jz a 3.0L motor and the 1jz a 2.5L motor?

They're both 1JZ 2.5L.

Mine says JZ1 on the back, and it has the 1st gen PCV system.

i dont think so. one of the above guys says his "JZ1" engine is 1st gen PCV. both of my 1Js are as well. and the back of the one i just got says JZ2.

so that option is out.
