I have a 90 supra with a 7mgte. The last time I went to drive it everything seemed fine until I pulled out of my driveway. That's when I first heard it knock. It went from no knocking to what sounded like really bad rod knock in about 5 seconds. I parked it as soon as I heard it and it sat there for the last couple months.

After a while I started thinking of other stuff that it could be so I just wanted to get others opinions. Just an FYI this motor was rebuilt by the previous owner and it instantly blew a head gasket. So when I got it I changed the head gasket but didn't touch the bottom end, which was stupid on my part. Now since I changed the head gasket it has been about 600 miles before any knocking. I am pretty sure it is rod knock but as it knocks more the warmer it is.

Sounds like it. If its get louder the higher you rev most likely is

It actually get quieter after 2500 rpm. But I am sure thats what it is. I have another 7m to throw in it. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like rod knock sadly. Lets hope its not.

Just wanted to add that the clutch has always made a weird sound. It almost sounds like it has a double or triple plate clutch in it. I was hoping maybe the sound is coming from in there somewhere.

I have a thread that I made a few months back that showed a video of clutch noise that could sould like rod knock to some people. Turns out the flywheel bolts backed out. A quick peak under the inspection cover for clutch runout will show you.

Supracentral, I actually looked at that thread a while back when I first heard it, and that's why I am assuming it is rod knock since it previously had a BHG and I didn't touch the bottom end.

I'm fairly sure you have rod knock sadly but here are the videos i have of my flywheel bolts being loose.
