Thick skin required for use of internet.

I completely agree, yet perhaps the thick skin should not have to be utilized so heavily on a site that supports the maintaining, the restoration and the resurrection of the Supra... No matter how much time and money one wants to put into it...

Who cares what others say?

You are right again - but then again why are we are on here, but to listen to what others have to say (shaeff - I really do know what you meant)... but perhaps the "others" should care what they are saying or just how they are saying it... My only point is that there is always a way to coat your opinion with a little sugar...

If you want 500whp, you've either got a good amount of spending money, or you're a fool. If you do have the money to get 500 our of the 7M, or pay for a JZ swap, you've got the money to fix everything else thats wrong with the car. If you were naive' enough to buy that car expecting a monster that you don't have to spend money on, your car is a POS, and you have the exact OPPOSITE mentality a Supra owner should have. If you bought it knowing it was busted with plans to fix it and take the proper steps to ressurect a car that has had terrible things done to it (and someone has definitely done terrible, TERRIBLE things to it), then it's a project car, and i want to wish you luck on your buy, and thank you for saving another Soup. For the record though, that thing looks like the PO took lots of great ideas, and found the cheapest possible ways to execute them on his car, resulting in a vehicle filled with problematic shithead hack-jobs ment to create power, that in reality did nothing other that effect reliability. I'm thinking that qualifies as a POS to me.

And yes I knew it was busted and that some idiot did terrible things to it and my intent is restore it. The hopes of 500 hp is a goal that all it might take me 10 years to get it there but it's just a goal I'm I wrong for having that?

Thick skin is good iv come to find out all people have diffarent opinions and let them brush it off your shoulder and go on. I was just excited to save one of these from the junk yard cus that's where it was headed. Like I said one track mind people I guess can only see one thing junk and pristine not what could be.

It would best to remember many of these cars end up as a POS not only due to age but because they get passed down through a chain of well meaning but clueless people. It's why I get a chuckle out of those who rant about previous owners while clearly continuing the process.

I'm not suggesting that's the situation here but it remains to be seen just how much "respect" gets bestowed upon this car. And since we're talking respect you should know that as nice as my car was for its age when the time came I sent it to the crusher rather than chance it falling into such hands. For all the years of faithful service it deserved nothing less.

Yes I understand this jj. But can at least have the chance to prove my self and my passion for these cars before you rip my a hole that's all I'm asking man. Because I know down the way I'm going to some help on somthing and you are pretty much the man with all the answers. It is a pos but with some hard work alittle help I see it as the nicest fastest thing for it's age running around the okc metro.

I haven't seen pictures of said POS to say much about it but i have seen in Hot Rod Magazine people pull these old beat down rusted to shit 70's muscle cars and restore them dropping all kinds of stupid change on them so what is wrong with him wanting to so the same thing to a 80's model import sports car? If he is anything like me the car had something about it that he wanted THAT car. OP good luck with the build as you stated it's a project so I would have to imagine corners will not be cut because you have to get it on the road.
