Well,
I really like these forums so far, hopefully you'll see more of me. I'm doing the 2J swap, and the hardware side of this is down. I know exactly what's needed. The electrical side really confuses me. I'm great with wires, soldering, mm, etc but the info given on some pages here just isn't for me. Does anyone know of a guide to wire the connectors in? Like, a list of what needs to be mated? I've seen the supras.nl one, maybe I'll go with that.

But, someone told me I can just grab a US spec 2JZ engine harness.. this seems too easy, what's the story behind this myth?

Thanks!!

No both USDM and JDM 2jz->mkIII swaps will need harness work. Remember that The JDM 2JZ and USDM 2JZ do have some differences, I know for a fact that JDM runs MAP and USDM runs MAF. So if you swap harness, you will also need to change it to either MAP or MAF depending on what engine you have right now.

Honestly dude, i wish I could say that it's easy but if you dont know how to solder, don't attempt this job. You should pay someone to do this for you... This is a little harder then just swapping the engine ;)

It's easy now that I have done it.

But really I would run a 2jzge with the 7mgte harness.

Thanks guys for all your help.

ZAZZN: I'm not confused as to how to solder, but WHAT to solder where. As stated in my original post, thanks though.

You need the usdm harness off of a 2jzgte, no you do not need a 7m ecu, no stand alone unless you want it, you can use a emanage if you want thats what i'm using. essentially the ecu will be fine the only thinks you have to adapter are the two body harness plugs. Then if you want a/c, cruise, abs, tems thats all extra.

I would also go ahead and look threw this write up. http://www.supras.nl/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=34&Itemid=50 if you have anymore questions feel free to pm me.
