First time I have ever painted a car. Looks pretty good I think. I bought it and it was spray painted flat black over the tan original color. Took about a month an a half, but looks a lot better then it used too, especially for my first time painting too.

Unfortunatly, I am going to have to sell it soon, I need to buy more inventory for my growing business.

Let me know what you think!

Looks like you had a nice place to do the work in!

Not many people know how much prep work goes into properly painting a car, it really does look good.

Yeah, Defiantly the prep work, and then doing the wet sanding and buffing took the most time.

The color is 1E0 I believe, From the Scion TC, called Flint Mica.

Yeah, it does have some orange peel. I buffed and wet sanded it for like 2 weeks. after doing it for so long I figured thats all the better I could get it.

I bought a leveling lambs wool pad for my buffer, it helped out quite a bit. not perfect, but it just cost me like $250 plus my time.

Looks great I wouldn't have thought it was a first time, there is a lot of orange peel so do some wetsanding and get some of that out if you want, but it looks great!

You definitely could color sand that paint a lot more and get it mirror smooth.

I have color sanded alot of paint jobs that had tons more orange peal than yours, and without exception I can get them to glass. It takes some time and patience and technique, but you can do it.

Let me know what kind of paint you used, and how many stages, and I'll tell you how to do it.

To answer multiple questions, I think im going to ask like $5,500 for it, but take offers.

Its an 87 turbo, JDM engine w/ ~50k miles. All new seals on the front end of the engine, new intermediate steering shaft, PS pump rebuilt, brake calipers rebuilt, new Toyo Proxes 4 tires, 3" downpipe, 3" blitz nur spec exhaust, GR2 shocks, lowering springs, lightweight flywheel, centerforce stage 3 clutch, redline mt90 tranny fluid.

I have just been putting most of my money into maintenance and not so much performance.

I used Omni paint and clear coat, and then I have a Porter Cable 7424 DA buffer with 3 different levels of pads, and then a lambs wool leveling pad. I used Optimum hyper compound, and polish, and finished it off with P21S Carnuba wax.

I was using 1500 grit wet sand paper, and I could not get some spots quite as smooth as I would like. But I have to keep telling myself that this was my first time painting, I did not have an air pressure regulator, and I did it in our machine shed which can be very dusty.

Looks good. I want to know how you got the molding off the doors without bending the hell out of them.

I actually bought the car without a majority of the mouldings. I then just purchased a set and did a rough sand, and painted them, and the followed with clear coat.

I love the outcome of the tail lights though
