Just Got My Probe Pistons Back From the Coater But........

I had it done for 310 Shipped! and they did A+ Work .

Just one issue.

One piston that riding on the side of the side of the box, and i guess a heavy box was put on it. Or it was kicked hard!

I've filed a claimed with ups for 150 dollars. I'd don't care if i take a hit. I just need a replacement piston so i can send it out to be coated.

At this point i hope i can buy a single from probe, and send it out to be coated. even if some of it comes out of my pocket.

^How can that cause that much damage.

1. Call Up Probe and See what i can do and what the cost is.
2. Call Up Evans, talk with them, and see if they can cut me a deal.

the coating is messed up too.

so i have a feeling it was dropped while being shipped out and put back in.

I spoke with Probe Sales earlier today.

They said they didn't have any.

So i'm going through some of Johns (Doward) posts and see a name Shawn and decide to call up and speak to him. I asked if he did a batch of pistons for drift-motion or John Doward for the 7M, and he said yea and he had two .040" pistons on the shelf.

So i bought one!

Spoke to Evans and they were sorry and said they would cut me a deal.

I still think it was damaged BEFORE it was put in the box as cardboard doesn't scratch aluminium

A quick note to anyone having pistons coated it needs to be done AFTER the block is bored and honed.

The issue being you don't know how uniform or thick the coating is on each piston so when they Mic each up they bore to that size + clearence.

The Moly on the skirts wears fairly quickly and you end up with a slappy engine when it's cold

Normally you bore to the Piston uncoated size then add coatings which being Moly will burnish down if too thick.

I'm still fighting with UPS.They want me to ship it out. But i spoke with a rep and they said they would come down to where i work or live.

The shop is run by a sweet old lady and she says that it wasn't damaged when it left. But she said since i have to send one out she'll cut me a deal and i'll have a few other items coated.

Good Point But Ehh.

This was the only good thing all day.

I almost got slashed because a crack head tried to rob us and i'm like naw. He whips out a knife, was inches from getting slashed, my coworker hits the alarm and he goes running. I almost got cut by a dirty life because i said no to giving him 75 bucks. The cops just left with the tape and our testimony's. :3d_frown:

TODAY!

Summary: This was a day off lessons. Don't get shit faced over a girl, and pistons. Massive Hangover this mourning. When the chick you're fighting with is in town and 20 minutes away make sure your cell phone isn't off because of last night. And when she's about to leave in 15 minutes because she has to drive her granny home in time for an Appointment don't speed through back roads when your DD is having clutch issues and is missing a Sway Bar. Don't come to work ahead of time pissed off. When a coworker is talking shit, list a craigslist personal ad under his phone number and list that make sure you talk dirty even if i refuse. Always talk to the people who actually visually check and see if it's not there. Don't risk your health over 75 dollars, and last but not least little old ladies while sweet can still lie which brings me back to square one of my day!

Question of the day: How can something bleed for more than a day and not die?
