I got a Sony DSC-W55 camera, kinda last min Xmas gift to myself :)

I wanted to do some light writing with it, all I know is I have to set the exposure time to around 1 second to maybe 10 seconds, problem is I have no freakin idea how to on this camera. I have it set to Program mode but I cant find the damn exposure setting..... can anyone help?

To do what you're trying to do you have to change the shutter speed. Looking at the specs it seems you can do this in program mode (shutter speed can be as long as 1 second) and twilight mode (shutter speed can be as long as 2 seconds and seems to be the slowest shutter speed this camera has).

Switch to either mode... select a slower shutter speed... light write (with a candle or something?) and be merry!

edit: you're probably gonna really want a tripod to do this

Hope ya got the supra to your house before you bought it :p

All I can give for hints is that a tripod or a REALLY steady hand is needed hah

Yeah I cant find how to change the shutter speed, didnt know if anyone had a Sony Cybershot cam to show me this... Im not technology illiterate but the manual doesn't show how neither does the camera easily...

Ok, I just read through one of the reviews for this camera... you can't manually change the shutter speed. The camera selects the best one based on the conditions... so your best bet is to set it to "twilight" and put the camera in a pretty dark room so that the camera hopefully selects the slowest shutter speed
