So not to long ago i discovered that my egr pipe burnt part of the wiring harness and kind of gave me an idea. Would it be ok to heat wrap the egr pipe and then use reflective heat tape on the harness?

Shouldn't make a significant difference... the EGR cooler on the back of the head is used to cool off the exhaust, not the pipe itself.

You really shouldn't need to if you have the harness clips and supports in place, they should keep the harness well away from the EGR pipe.

Lots of those clips fall off through out the years of replacing head gaskets tho. Zips ties work great tho.

Yeah when i changed the hg a couple of months ago I did notice one was missing and forgot to zip it. So all in all my fault so I will zip tie it tomorrow check the clearance. Still might do it just for precaution.

I just zip tied mine to the egr modulator bracket or some bracket next to the tb.
