Hi all,

I've been on this site for a couple of months and I just noticed I haven't introduced myself. I really don't post a lot because if I have problems, I try to search them out first and see if it's the same thing I going for me. If I can't find, then I'd post it. I'll admit I don't know much about my car, but I'm learning a lot by visiting this site. I have the same SN on SF but I tend to check here because the atomsphere does feel a lot better than there. Hell, I only check that site for parts on sale and to see whats going on in the CA section. For everything else, here.

Name's Kenny and I'm from LA,CA. 27 yrs. old and I drive a 86.5, 5spd. It's not in its greatest condition, but I know with some work and a lot of patience; it will look and perform great. I'm not trying to get high HP goals, just the usual exhaust, intake and maybe headers. There was the thought of a swap but if so, that's going to wait until next year.

I chose this car because it's a Toyota and it's RWD. It was a choice between a S13/14, RX7 or Supra. Most of the cars we've owned were/are Toyotas and my friend's family is all Toyotas (celica, camry, mr2, friends GF has a mkiv N/A). So I got hooked too.

So yeah, that pretty much sums it up. Sorry if it seems like a long post and I'll try to post more often.

Kenny

Hi Kenny. My name is Kenny too. Let's be friends! lol.

Welcome to supramania! You made a good choice regarding which car you chose. The atmosphere is definitely better over here, and you can post whenever you like.

He says his friends gf has one...[sigh] Welcome, I'm sure you already know to just skip right past his useless posts... I also don't know that much about my car, but sometimes I can give help, but I mostly need help... Just read the posts carefully and you'll see who really knows what their saying and who are just ass clowns that know jack and like to see there post count go up. That way you can breeze right through to the answers!!!

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, it's my friend's gf that has the mkiv. She's really cool and we've known each other for years so she isn't biased towards me and our supras.

As far as pics goes, I'll try to take some this weekend. Don't expect much though, it's still a long way until it's up to par. All it has on now is magnaflow w/a 3" tip. I do have a set of mkiv 16's that I got from them but haven't put on yet. I'm going to do that when I buy springs, pref. eibachs on my gr-2's.

This weekend I'll be working on the infamous valve covers, I'm hoping that it's just that and not my piston rings. :icon_conf

Ctsupra - hehe, nice to meet you too Kenny. I meet more and more Kenny's everyday. :icon_bigg

Welcome dude.

Supras are fun cars, i am on my fifth on enow.. ;)

BTW, get suspension Technique springs, i think its a little better than Eibachs. I had Eibachs and never could get used to it.
Drove a Supra with ST Springs and stock shocks, and that thing handled like it was on rails..and yes I did push it in cornrs.

On the valve covers, make sure you change the number 3 gasket as well , or else oil will get in plugs. Its a gasket sitting inthe plug galley held down witrh allen head bolts.

Either way, enjoy your car and don't let little nick nacks bug you . It is an old car, but with everything in it :

Moe.

If you change the #3 engine cover - the bit between the valve covers that Moe is talking about - get a new one from JBL, who has a section here in the vendors. Beats the hell out of the one you get from Toyota. :)
