Thanks. Here's what I did this weekend, not much. I still need to cut the brackets out (3/16" SS) but you guys should know what I'm making here, right?

I am not a fan of solid mounts either. what is your main goal with it? are you trying to prevent the motor from ripping the engine mounts/the prevent turbo from contacting the shock tower? (this is an issue with high power turbo mk2s with large turbos on a stock manifold.

Exactly, just like an additional mount.

Ron: I use the pre89 square mounts as they have limiters and I still bolt the Toyota Torque limiter/damper shock to the left mount.

Both my mounts were original 86 parts and were 90% broken through age but still held the motor in place.

i don't think it is possl;eb ian to use the 7m montes on a 1j block with out some3 fabing wqhen you chould just fab hole new one
