Nope, muffler is not needed ;).

And I just got my FCON wiring harness in the mail today(TP-8 for pre-89 ECUs), then I opened the FCOn up, only to find that I have the wrong chip for what i will be using it for....I have the E105V chip (for use with VPC), but I need the E155 (for use w/out VPC).

So if anyone has the chip I need...LMK!!!

So I haven't updated in a while...>_>

This is the latest....Last time I started the Supra, it was smoking a bit, and smelled like something was burning...:( Definitely smelled like oil.

I am thinking the turbo seals went, because apparently my car was smoking while driving (i never noticed it) and I had noticed some smoke coming out of the exhaust recently the last few times I warmed it up, etc...but I always thought it was just condensation, because it has been pretty cold lately... I guess I was wrong.

Well, I will update again once I get home on Sunday/Monday, and get a chance to pull the plugs to verify that the problem isn't somrthing more serious. :(

Okay, I have determined that the smoking is really only noticeable about a minute after startup...so I am pretty sure that my turbo seals are just leaking a bit. The smoke seems to go away once the car gets driven, though, only a faint smell of oil burning once everything is warmed up...so I don't think it's too big of a deal.

Now for the fun stuff!!!

I installed the F-CON last night, I didn't have the "correct" chip, but as it turns out the VPC chip will actually work without the VPC, if you tune the A/F with the F-CON's internal switch. :)

So I did a few WOT pulls with a motec wideband hooked up, and @ WOT/12.5psi, I had an A/F ratio of 12.1:1 :aigo:...

So after adjusting the F-CON, I got it to around 10.8:1 @ WOT...:D Much better.

The chip that ended up not working (the engine would flood ever time I tried to start it!)

I also managed to get my hands onto a new bumper, it looks really straight, just needs to be painted!

On a side note, I also installed an UNGO alarm system!

damn,
you really don't stop working!
Nice progress john.
I need to get some sort of tuning for mine, it's probably running like shit.
:)

PS.
Powerbook or macbook pro ya got there?

Haha...it's a PowerBook G4 12"

Thanks for the comment! And yea, it was running far too lean, and if I had put my foot into it on a hot day for any length of time, I could have melted a piston. :(
