jdm shit motor

so i jus got my jdm motor n it looks like someone threw it of a house n for some reason the oil fill smells like gasoline n the stuff comen out of the oil drain looks like chocolate milk wtf? howe bad did i get f**ked im pretty sure its gonna need new bearings wat do u guys think oh and the turbo has a lil play n the fins on the compressor wheel r all f**ked up wat shuld i do please helpthey still have me bent over can i jus get away with honing the block n replacing it with factory internals......

ps where the spark plug wires go is full of water im guess thats from them power washing it or watever they do

You just got a JDM engine with a blown head gasket and God knows what else. If you were attempting to order the engine in running condition, go directly to the company you bought it from and kick the manager squarely in the teeth. If you wanted a blown engine just to be able to build from scratch, well I guess you got one.

that sucks dude. my friend bought another 7m as well and it had a blown head gasket too. Luckily wasnt in THAT bad of shape though...

I hear ya. I just bought a jdm motor they claimed "drop in" was a good thing i planned on new MHG and studs it had blown head gasket also...Had oil in every hole, intake as well as exaust. on a good note the turbo was good any way good luck.........

i ordered it from tiger japanes motors they said it has a 30 day start up warrenty so im about to jus tell them i put it in and it wouldnt start so the send me a new one

did they do a compression test? or did you ask for one? i got a motor from them and it was all good. it was NA, but...they may also have you pay for shipping to get it back to them. best of luck.

Anybody buying a jdm should plan on rebuilding it before dropping it in. Again, assume all used 7ms have a BHG and Rod Knock.

If engine was sold as drop in and 30 day start up... Id be doing some serious bitching...take pictures of motor before you do anything to it...$$ how much did it cost you ? I was thinking of getting a jdm from place in ocala..If you payed threw paypal you can file claim..

This exact thing happened to me. They claimed 40k miles and drop in ready. Right!

The first engine had been run on low oil and all the internals were toast from the top down. I sent it back, they agreed, and sent me a second one.

The second one had a BHG on #6 and badly eroded water jackets. I sent it back and they sent me a third one.

The third one was the best of the three; but, not at all "Drop in Ready" and had waaaaaay more than 40k on it.

This company was out of Idaho and they paid all of the shipping charges. I paid $735 for the engine and I think $60 for a gasket kit. It was about a year ago. The engine is currently stripped, on the stand, and going to the shop for machine work in the next couple of months.

So, I said all that to say this: Talk with them and SEND IT BACK!!! And be prepared to go rebuild whatever you get because it's going to need it!

i ended up swappin my 7m after i got rod knock and i got a JDM 7m as well and yepp they did the same thing the pressure washed it! but luckily the plugs were still in so no water got into the block so i just used my previous head after getting it machined and suprisingly enough it runs fine!
