kinda old thread but i was wondering how much u guys paid and if the material is even made by recaro still? i have to do the whole back seats and the jdm drivers seat side bolster area...i got quoted 380 if i use the rear panel of the front seat for the side bolster area and use a aftermarket material to replace that and all the back seats.

The flash makes the fabric look a lot different then it actually is. I had the two seats done, plus got the letters embriodered in. It cost me something like $400cad for it all.

The fabric is no longer available.

hardest part about the recaro's is finding matching material to re-upholster them with.

people are talking $400 - $800 for a set of 15 year old Recaro's and then re-upholstery for $400 thats just too much if you ask me. For some JDM stuff with 90's technology and parts.

I like them because I like them, JDM cool points factor aside.

I don't really like Torinos. I like my car looking mostly normal/stock. I don't want "racing seats." .

I like having rare things in the car though but not because they're JDM. 92 is rare and shadow grey is rare but those are US things.

I'd rather reupholster my old Recaros than buy a new aftermarket seat. A seat is a seat.

Of course, all my Recaro stuff came with the car when I bought it but still.

ah ok, i figured the torinos are not really racing seats. well kind of. The Shadow Grey is really sweet though. I wish i could hook that up

recaro up until a few years ago still sold the exact seats that are in our cars...

similar if not exactly the same recaros where in a lot of other cars as well (leather recaros came in rare f-bodies, recaro edition civics in japan IIRC, ect...)

Recaro's were used in all the RS Ford Models here - Sierra RS Cosworths especially, but also plenty of Escort RS Turbo's, Fiesta RS Turbo's and the Ford Capri 280i and Tickford.

Kai it's to bad we never get any of those Hot Hatches here in North America. Dont know if they all technically clasify as that but damn a small car like that with the fun toys they had under the hood. Even now things like the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo is only but a dream here.

IIFC the skyline GTR R32 has almost the same identical Recaro's
